Project Island song

 

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about Project Island song, floating classroom.

The first thing we had to do was to map out Urupukapuka Island. The second we got where we ate morning tea. We were split into group one of the groups went planting and the other group bult traps and my group was a peer of 2, we were the first group to finish and Shane put the the trap and sead to draw on it and when we were the group planting. Ria said to have a Karakia for the Karaka Tree.

The Extraordinary Directions

 

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about following directions.

We were given a set of instructions. The first instruction said we had to read it carefully all the way through. I didn’t read It carefully so I didn't get it right 

The teachers said you all got it wrong you were meant to stop at the second question.

There is 23 directions.

I felt like a stupid goose because I got it wrong.

The Extraordinary Catapul

 

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about energy.  Kinetic energy is when an object isn’t moving potential energy Is when an object is moving  We had to choose a group and we chose a group of fore we built a catapult the first one didn't work. The second one failed but the third one, work I felt angry and our teacher came and talked to us

And said no desagres more arguments. I was happier my group started to listen to each others ideas

Facts about the Ecosyste

 

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about the ecosystem we had to search up facts about the ecosystem.

An ecosystem is made up of animals, plants and bacteria. Dead plants and animals break down into organic materials that go back into the soil.

Producers make food from inorganic matter. (Plants are producers – they make sugar through photosynthesis – they use sunlight, water and carbon dioxide to produce food. Did you know an Ecosystem is made of trees ???

The Task Master

In Te Ngahere this week we have been learning about Task master. We had to make the exact copy of the picture that Whaea Becks did.  It was hard because the person who was the drawer, wasn’t  allowed to see the picture.  My group wouldn’t stop getting louder and louder because they wanted to show me where to put the drawing, but  your not suppose to touch the drawer, you had to only use words.  It was fun to be the runner and the drawer.
